Alberto Morán :: Full-Stack Software Engineer

I'm Alberto, a full-stack software engineer with about three years of experience. Most of my work is in Java and Spring Boot on the backend and Angular on the frontend, with PostgreSQL for the data.

I started on the API team at Vexcel Imaging, building endpoints for aerial imagery and geospatial data. Since 2024 I've been freelancing: I sit down with the client, work out what they actually need, then build it, deploy it and keep it running. The biggest one so far is a traceability app for a food distributor.

I also run Albgott, a small private cloud I set up at home. It's where I learned most of what I know about networking, CI/CD and monitoring, and it's where this website is hosted.

- I build custom business apps end to end: requirements, REST APIs documented with OpenAPI, PostgreSQL, Angular frontends, Docker and Jenkins deployments, and maintenance afterwards.
- Built the HACCP and batch traceability app for Montes del Acebo, a food distributor, on my own. It tracked every lot from purchase to sale, handled returns, stock write-offs and expiry dates, and was used daily and in health inspections until the business was sold.

- Built and maintained REST endpoints serving aerial imagery and geospatial metadata in a production API.
- Added advanced search filters over terrain and parcel vector data, capture metadata and camera information.
- Wrote automated tests with JUnit and Cucumber, kept the OpenAPI docs up to date, and helped with monitoring in Datadog and with support.
